Xbox Italia e FightTheStrokea third sector organization that supports the cause of young stroke survivors and with a disability of infantile cerebral palsy, organize a video game marathon for charity to be held on May 12 on Twitch. In line with Microsoft’s “Gaming for Everyone” philosophy, the marathon will involve some kids with disabilities, who will have the opportunity to play together with 4 of the most loved streamers in the gaming world and selected by Arkadia, an influencer marketing and branded content agency.
Xbox and FightTheStroke: videogamers live for the charity initiative
Chroatomist, Hemerald, F1WithCarolina e You have will play live Fortnite, Minecraft, Forza Horizon 5 and FIFA 23 respectively, involving their community to reach two big goals: promote inclusive and accessible gaming experiences for all, as well as support the Fight Camp project.
The team of FightTheStroke it will be made up of 4 boys with a cerebral palsy disability, who will connect from Lombardy, Tuscany, Lazio and Sardinia. The live streams will all take place on May 12 on the Twitch profiles of the 4 creators at the following times:
- Ore 16 con F1WithCarolina, born in 1998 and passionate about motoring, Forza Horizon 5 will be played.
- Ore 17 it will be the turn of You have with FIFA 23. Matteo Del Turco is a very famous streamer among fans of games such as: Formula 1, NBA, Fifa and Call of Duty.
- Ore 18 it will be the turn of Chroatomist, professional video gamer Fortnite born in ’95, already one of the most successful talents in the videogame universe.
- At 20to close the marathon will be Hemerald, alias Salvatore Cugnopassionate about video games and pirates who will play a Minecraft.
Objective to break down social barriers
The goal of the marathon is to eliminate barriers through gaming experiences accessible to all. Xbox, in fact, gives players with disabilities the opportunity to customize their way of playing. L’Xbox Adaptive Controllerfor example, is a device dedicated to gamers with limited mobility, which includes large programmable controls and connects to switches, buttons, supports and external joysticks to make the game more accessible.
Xbox and FightTheStroke, a collaboration that has been going on for years
The collaboration between Xbox Italia and the FightTheStroke Foundation started a few years ago, through dedicated gaming sessions enabled by the Xbox Adaptive Controller and was strengthened last December with the creation and distribution of some T-shirts designed by the artist Aluart, which symbolized all the children who survived the stroke united by gaming experiences also enabled by new technologies in the gaming field. The same shirts will be worn by the boys and the creators during the live shows.
The charitable initiative also aims to raise money to finance the sixth edition of Fight Camp which will be held in August in Milan and is an opportunity offered free of charge by the FightThestroke Foundation to a maximum of 16 children from all over the world (with an impact on over 100 adults including therapists, instructors, researchers, caregivers) who together will carry on an intensive motor and cognitive enhancement training and introduction to sport.
