Square Enix Ltd. unveiled the launch trailer last night during the PlayStation Showcase FINAL FANTASY XVI. The action DGR represents the new chapter of the iconic videogame saga.
The game will be released worldwide on PlayStation 5 (PS5) consoles on June 22, 2023.

The trailer, titled “SALVATION,” offers a preview of what players will experience when they enter Valisthea next month. Valisthea is a land illuminated by the Mother Crystals, a source of magic and prosperity for humanity, but now threatened by the Plague, a mysterious disease that infests its realms. The trailer also shows the challenges facing the Bearers, human beings gifted with the ability to use magic at will, and reveals the hidden truth behind the Mother Crystals, not always a blessing for everyone.
Finally, the trailer follows the story of Clive Rosfield, the protagonist of the game, a valiant warrior who received the title of “First Shield of Rosaria” and who promised to protect his younger brother Joshua, the Dominant of the Phoenix, the Eikon of fire. Clive will be overwhelmed by a tragic event that will push him to seek revenge against the Dark Eikon called Ifrit, a creature that brings misfortune wherever he goes.
