In recent days Warner Bros. Games has released the launch trailer for Mortal Kombat 1the new chapter in the famous fighting video game series created by the award-winning studio NetherRealm Studios.
The trailer, titled It’s in our blood, is actually a tribute to the historic spot “Deadly Monday”, which in 1993 marked a turning point for the saga. The video is directed by Tom Kuntzwith the collaboration of the Oscar nominee Matthew Libatique (A Star Is Born), and stars the actor, producer and former wrestler dave bautista.
In the trailer, Bautista plays the role of Liu Kang, the character who in Mortal Kombat 1 created and revived the Mortal Kombat universe and who must gather the champions of the various realms to fight and protect his dream. You can watch the trailer at this link.
The game features a revamped Mortal Kombat universe, featuring an all-new story and never-before-seen, re-imagined take on iconic heroes and villains. The title also features a large cast of legendary fighters with completely rewritten pasts, including Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage, Kenshi, Smoke, Rain, Li Mei , Tanya, Baraka, Geras, Reptile, Ashrah, Havik, General Shao, Sindel and more.
When does Mortal Kombat 1 come out?
Mortal Kombat 1 will be available starting September 19 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). The game will be enriched by Kombat Packa downloadable DLC after launch and already available for pre-order as part of the Premium Edition and of Kollector’s Edition. The Kombat Pack will add playable characters Quan Chi, Ermac and Takeda to the game, along with guest wrestlers Peacemaker, Omni-Man and Patriot.
In addition, all those who pre-order the game will receive the playable character Shang Tsung.
