What was just a hypothesis is about to become reality. The actors’ strike of Hollywood, promoted by the union SAG-AFTRA, could very soon also extend to the world of video games.
These days the actress Fran Drescher, president of SAG-AFTRA, urged his members to approve the strike motion against the giants of the videogame industry. A world that, in addition to developers, also includes the work of actors and voice actors.
Fran Drescher said “this is the time to show our solidarity.” In a new video the actress declared:
“It’s been almost a year since SAG-AFTRA began negotiating the Interactive Media Agreement with video game companies. Despite numerous multi-day bargaining sessions, companies refuse to meet the needs of our members.”

This is not the first time that SAG-AFTRA has proposed a strike in the world of video games
History reminds us that there is already a precedent. Between 2016 and 2017 the union promoted and called a strike that lasted 183.
The new strike could start literally any day, given that the deadline for the end of negotiations is set for September 25th, exactly one week from now.
