OPPO, among the leading companies in the smart device sector, today announced the five winning projects of theOPPO Inspiration Challenge 2023. Following the completion of the Global Final Demo Event in Singapore.
Oppo Inspiration Challenge 2023, the winning projects
Initiated by the OPPO Research Institute and supported by Qualcomm, GSMA 5G IN, Amazon Web Services and LinkedIn, this year’s Inspiration Challenge saw participants submit proposals in various categories. They are: “Inspiration for People” e “Inspiration for the Planet”each aimed at identifying solutions capable of supporting OPPO’s philosophy in support of “Virtuous Innovation”.
After three regional challenges and an acceleration camp, five winning projects were selected from the 687 proposed by teams. They come from 66 countries and regions around the world. These teams will continue to collaborate with OPPO and its partners to realize their projects.
Oppo Inspiration Challenge 2023, the startups that presented their cutting-edge products
During the Global Final Demo Event, OPPO collaborated with 6 teams at startup, both this year and last year, to showcase their cutting-edge products and prototypes; between these, Bluepha Co., Ltd. collaborated with OPPO to create eco-friendly smartphone packaging, as well as art installations made from biodegradable materials that showcase the lightness and flexibility of OPPO’s foldable smartphones and its commitment to the environment.
Woola, another startup focused on sustainability, showed off packaging made for the OPPO Watch from recycled wool. One of the winners of last year’s Inspiration Challenge, TangTangQuan, returned to the stage this year to showcase the results of his collaboration with OPPO by promoting a blood sugar monitoring feature for the OPPO Watch 4 Pro that allows diabetes patients to monitor their blood glucose levels in real time using a customized smartwatch interface.
This year, OPPO collaborated with for the first time Deloitte China to present an Acceleration Camp before the Global Final Demo Event. During this camp, experts from the OPPO Research Institute joined members from OPPO’s Software, Hardware, Investment, Academia & Research, IoT departments, along with industry experts from Deloitte China, to discuss with top 15 teams and provide advice on technology, industry trends and commercial prospects of their proposals.
The five winning proposals
At the end of the event, five winning proposals were selected from the fifteen finalists by a jury composed of members of the OPPO Research Institute, OPPO’s investment department and partners of the programma Temasek International, GSMA, Fidelity International e XNode. The judges evaluated the proposals according to four criteria: feasibility, innovation and originality, long-term potential and social value.
The prize
Each winning team received $50,000 in funding as well as the opportunity to further develop their ideas in collaboration with OPPO and its partners. Furthermore, “3D Interactive Platform” and “Flint Paper Battery” received People Choice awards in the “Inspiration for People” and “Inspiration for the Planet” categories, while “Impulse (Non Surgical Hearing Aid)” and “Flint Paper Battery ” received Media Choice awards.
OPPO will continue to bring together professionals, entrepreneurs and startup teams through the Inspiration Challenge to develop and implement innovative solutions that enable more and more people to benefit from the power of technology.
