Paramount+ has unveiled the first official teaser trailer of the Season 2 of HALOthe series inspired by the popular video game franchise for Xbox consoles due out in 2024.
In the video – which you can find below – we find ourselves again Master Chief/John-117 (interpreted by Pablo Schreiber), ready to resume the eternal struggle with the Covenant.
Halo: Season 2 trailer, cast and release date
The second season of HALO picks up the story thread set in the 26th century, in which humanity is at war with the Covenant, an alien faction that wants to destroy Earth and its colonies. Master Chief (aka John-117), the leader of a squad of genetically engineered soldiers called Spartans, discovers that the Covenant have a plan to attack humanity’s greatest stronghold. To stop them, John-117 (Pablo Schreiber) will have to find the Halo. On his journey the Spartan will be helped by Dr. Halsey (Natascha McElhone), the creator of the Spartan program, and Cortana (Jane Taylor), an artificial intelligence that assists him in his missions.
In addition to the aforementioned Schreiber, McElhone and Taylor, the cast of the new season also sees the returns of Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo), Shabana Azmi (Fire), Natasha Culzac (The Witcher), Olive Gray (Half Moon Investigations), Yerin Ha (Reef Break), Bentley Kalu (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Kate Kennedy (Catastrophe), Charlie Murphy (Peaky Blinders) e Danny Sapani (Penny Dreadful).
Among the new entries, however, they stand out Joseph Morgan (Vampire Diaries, The Originals) e Cristina Rodlo (No One Gets Out of Here Alive, The Homeless World Cup). The latter will play James Ackerson and Talia Perez respectively. The former is an intelligence agent who has spent her career rising through the ranks of the UNSC Naval Intelligence Bureau, while Talia Perez is a corporal specializing in linguistics for a US Marine Corps communications unit. The first two episodes of HALO season 2 will stream exclusively on Paramount+ on February 8, 2024.
