A year of research: Google published the statistics of most popular searches during the 2023 in Italia. The annual overview of Google Trends it allows us to relive the questions we asked, the people who interested us and the most significant moments that characterized this year.
Google Trends, the most searches carried out in Italy in 2023
On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, Google took a journey through the most relevant trends that have intrigued the world over the years. From the results that emerged, it clearly emerges that, at a global level, there are common interests shared by different cultures.
In the most searched global trends section Of Alwaysiconic figures emerge such as The Beatles (the most sought after rock band), Leonardo da Vinci (the most searched artist), Cristiano Ronaldo (the most wanted athlete), Beyonce (most searched Grammy winner), Rihanna (most sought after fashion icon), Taylor Swift (most searched singer-songwriter), Soccer (most searched sport), Minecraft (most searched video game), The Twilight Saga (most searched trilogy) and the Mona Lisa (most searched work of art, excluding theatrical works).
In the Italian trends of 2023, characters such as have emerged Jannik Sinner, Romelu Lukaku, Peppino of Capri, Shakira, Marta Fascina, Chiara Francini, Elly Schlein, Andrea Giambruno, Francesca Fagnani e Luisa Ranieri in the top ten. Most searched movies include Oppenheimer, Barbie, There’s still tomorrow (the only Italian film in the ranking), Murder in Venice, Avatar 2, The Nun 2, The Whale, Killers of the Flower Moon e Creed 3. Among TV series, they stand out Sea Outside, Good morning mom!, Lidia Poet, One Piece, The Last of Us and others.
The farewell session was extensive, with Maurizio Costanzo more wanted than Silvio Berlusconiin a ranking that also includes Matthew Perry and Michela Murgia. The most sought after actress is Chiara Francini, among the singers Rosa Chemical wins. Among the “whys” there is the war in Gaza, while the most searched meanings are those of National Mourning and Transgender. Many asked what Hamas was (many searches also for the Kibbutzim and the Gaza Strip), demonstrating Italy’s interest in the conflict.
