Well yes, it’s that time of year again. The one in which we take stock of the 12 months that have just passed and, above all, look to the future. After all 2023 was a year full of surprises from a gaming point of view, and the new year doesn’t seem to want to be outdone. Among numerous remakes and numerous titles already announced, let’s take a look at the most anticipated video games coming out in 2024also taking a look at the calendar.
For convenience we have decided to divide the list into two categories: new games and remakes/remastered editions. Let’s start with the latter.
The most anticipated remakes, reboots and remastered of 2024
The Last of Us Part II
Joel and Ellie’s journey continues, with the remake of a title that has won over 300 awards. As with the first chapter, the remaster brings the story of Ellie and Abby to the PlayStation 5 console, with graphical improvements, controller integration with haptic feedback and new survival modes.

Persona 3 Reload
The Persona 3 remake will arrive on February 2 when ATLUS brings the game to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC (via Steam). The title will be included dal day one su Xbox Game Pass.

Alone in the Dark
The return of a 90s horror classic. The reboot was supposed to arrive as early as October 2023, but was postponed to January of the new year (probably to avoid competition from Alan Wake II).

Metal Gear Solid Delta
Exactly 20 years after the release of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Delta arrives, the remake version of the game that will exploit all the power of the latest generation consoles. The remake is currently in development using the Unreal Engine 5 graphics engine.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
The remake will introduce us to new versions of the iconic characters Cloud, Aerith, Barret and Tifa. An unlikely group of heroes join forces with new playable companions, including Yuffie and Red XIII and a wisecracking robot named Cait Sith.

Silent Hill 2 Remake
After receiving a letter from his deceased wife, James travels to the place where they shared many memories, hoping to see her once again: Silent Hill. There, by the lake, he finds a woman who looks disturbingly like her.

The most anticipated video games of 2024
TEKKEN 8
The eighth chapter will be the game in the series with the most incredible graphics, thanks to the power of the current generation of consoles, and will offer a new aggressive combat system that will make battles even more spectacular and engaging. The game will also feature a new mode called Arcade Quest: a single-player mode that takes up the origins of the franchise and offers a new way to play and improve your skills. Skull and Bones
The release of Skull & Bones has become something of a meme for video game fans, due to constant delays and missed announcements. Aspects that have contributed to making Ubisoft’s pirate title one of the most anticipated video games of 2024.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
Announced with a trailer during The Game Awards 2023, the second chapter of Hellblade is still shrouded in mystery. However, we know that it will be released during the new year and that from day one it will be available on Game Pass.

Dragon’s Dogma 2
Among the most anticipated video games of 2024 there is also the sequel to the famous Dragon’s Dogma, released in 2012. A game that has sold over 7.2 million copies worldwide and which inspired an original animated series on Netflix.

Enotria The Last Song
Enotria: The Last Song presents itself as a Souls-style Action-RPG set in a fantasy world inspired by Italian folklore.

Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl

Avowed
Developed with Unreal Engine 5, some insiders describe Avowed as a sort of Skyrim with a deeper level of gameplay interaction, but it’s unclear what this means specifically. What is certain is that it will arrive on Xbox Game Pass from day one.

Little Nightmares III
In Little Nightmares III we will follow the journey of Low and Alone, in search of a path that can lead them out of nowhere.
