Strong of the motto Powering Creativity with Technology, the company brings its advanced technologies and innovative solutions to the event, both for creators and users. And let’s not forget about the brand PlayStation 5, also present at CES 2024.

CES 2024: Sony news
- Torchlight. One of the flagships of the Sony stand is Torchlight, an innovative viewing space that uses cutting-edge technologies developed in collaboration with Epic Games. This environment allows filmmakers to create digital scenes in real time, thanks to the Unreal Engine, tools such as the Virtual Production Tool Set and Sony’s VENICE digital camera.
- Virtual Production. Sony is at the forefront of the development of Virtual Production, a new production methodology that integrates the latest innovations in imaging, sensors and displays, as well as gaming engines for real-time rendering. Collaborating with companies like PixomondoSony PCL e SPE, Sony offre servizi creativi end-to-end to support the production process from pre-production to post-production.
- Partnership with Manchester City and new sports technologies. Sony explores new frontiers of fan engagement in football, working with Manchester City to create a global online community of fans. A beta service will be launched in the coming months, and the closed testing phase is already underway, generating great excitement among fans. Furthermore, the brand’s sports divisions have developed other global initiatives with major sports companies, using technologies such as optical tracking Hawk-Eye Innovations and data visualization of Beyond Sports. These initiatives aim to offer unique interactive experiences to a large and diverse audience.
- Safety Cocoon. Sony’s Safety Cocoon concept represents an advancement in vehicle safety. It’s a matter of a 360 degree detection system that increases road safety. Visitors to CES can experience Sony’s sensing technologies, designed to surpass the capabilities of the human eye and enhance the mobility experience.
Sony Music innovations
At CES 2024, Sony unveiled three revolutionary applications that promise to deliver immersive musical experiences. Visitors to the Sony stand have the unique opportunity to test these cutting-edge technologies. Specifically, these are:
- Jericho music video by Iniko. Using advanced virtual production technologies, Sony collaborated with Epic Games to create Jericho’s music video Iniko (Columbia Records). Additionally, they created Journey Through Jericho, a Fortnite companion island inspired by the music video.
- Nitewave: A Musical Island in Fortnite. Nitewave is a new music island on Fortnite, developed with the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). This island represents a step forward in the integration of music into the gaming universe.
- AVNU: Where Music Meets Play. AVNU: Where Music Meets is an interactive music space on Roblox. Here, players can immerse themselves in a world of challenges, games and collect virtual products, all to the beat of music from Sony Music artists like Paul Russell (Arista Records).
PlayStation 5 e PS VR2 al CES 2024
The Sony Interactive Entertainment division presented a series of exciting new features for the PlayStation 5 console and the PS VR2 headset at CES. Let’s see some of the new features below:
- Cutting-edge accessories. The gaming experience is enriched with auricolari wireless Pulse Explore and the controller AccessT, both designed to offer unprecedented immersion. Soon, they will be joined by the new generation of cuffie wireless Pulse Elitewhich promise to further raise the level of audio quality for gamers.
- Console customization. For those who want to customize their console, Sony introduces the cover metallizzate Deep Earth Collection per PS5along with DualSense wireless controllers, which combine style and functionality.
- Games, or rather gaming experiences. Visitors to CES will have the opportunity to try it out Gran Turismo 7 su PS5 e PlayStation VR2 (PS VR2), thanks to the immersive driving stations available at the stand. Furthermore, it will be possible to preview the No Return mode of the Remastered of The Last of Us – Part II, out January 19th, developed by Naughty Dog
- Ghostbusters VR. Sony Pictures Virtual Reality (SPVR) brought its latest VR game to CES 2024, Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord. The game takes advantage of the advanced eye-tracking and haptic response capabilities of the PS VR2, as well as the adaptive triggers of the PS VR2 Sense controller. In reality the title, in addition to being aimed at players, also shows all the potential of Sony’s immersive technologies aimed at creators. Visitors to the stand can try out the game and the headsetand immerse yourself in the world of Ghostbusters thanks to the exclusive haptic technology and markerless and mobile motion capture systems (mocopi) developed by the company.
