The first S.S. took place yesterday evening, January 31stony State of Play del 2024, an event that did not fail to amaze us with surprise announcements and breathtaking trailers. Many of the titles revealed were in the air, of course, but however, the 40 minute showcase was able to satisfy usshowing us some of the most interesting games coming out on PlayStation 5 and PS VR 2, including a spectacular trailer for Death Stranding 2.
Without further ado, therefore, let’s recap all the announcements from the latest State of Play.

Helldrivers 2
We don’t even have time to start the event before we find ourselves already catapulted into the fight for Super Earth, with the new and frenetic trailer for Helldrivers 2, coming out in just over a week!
Release date: Helldrivers 2 will arrive on February 8, 2024 on PlayStation 5 and PC (via Steam)
Stellar Blade – Sony State of Play announcements
From February 7th it will be possible to pre-order Stellar Blade, which during the State of Play finally revealed some of the game’s characters to us. These will represent our most faithful allies in the vain hope of saving the human race. And if the trailer reminds you of Final Fantasy, well know that you’re not alone.
Exit date: Stellar Blade will arrive on April 26, 2025 on PlayStation 5
Sonic x Shadow Generations
Someone had predicted it, but there was a deafening silence from SEGA. And yet here it is: among the State of Play announcements too the new Sonic, which finally has an official title (and a trailer). The title is presented like this:
“Shadow the Hedgehog is back and teams up with the two versions of Sonic, classic and contemporary, in Sonic X Shadow Generations, a new collection with two special experiences”
Release date: Sonic x Shadow Generations will arrive in fall 2024 for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4
Zenless Zone Zero
miHoYo e Shanghai Miha Touring Film Technology, in practice the developers of Genshin Impact, present us with this new game with clearly oriental graphics (and not that we expected anything else). The title is set in the town of New Eridu and, from what little we learn from the trailer, there is a lot of shooting. We don’t know anything else, not even the release date. The game is in fact being developed for the PlayStation 5 console.

Foamstars
Developed by Toylogic and distributed by Square Enix, Foamstars promises to catapult us into competitive 4v4 matches (both PvP and PvE) with different game modes available. Suds and soap battles in the colorful city of Bath Vegas.
Release date: Foamstars arrives February 6th for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 (from day one also in the PlayStation Plus catalogue)
Dave the Diver – Sony State of Play announcements
After debuting on PC and Nintendo Switch at the end of 2022, Dave the Diver also arrives on Sony home consoles with a small novelty: extra content that also brings Godzilla into the game.
Release date: Dave the Diver will arrive on PlayStation consoles in April 2024. Godzilla content will be available from May
V-Rising
A vampire-themed action RPG that is already playable on PC and is preparing to debut on the PlayStation family of consoles. In short: there are those who aspire to become a footballer and those who want to be an astronaut. But if your dream is to become Dracula, then V-Rising this is the game for you.

Silent Hill: The Short Message
Among the most anticipated announcements of the State of Play: a new chapter of Silent Hill. Well yes, another confirmation has also arrived: the game is free-to-playwhich translated means free. And it’s available right away!

Silent Hill 2 Remake
And since we’re on the subject of Silent Hill, let’s stay there. Actually the new trailer of the remake per new-gen di Silent Hill 2 it doesn’t tell us anything new. No release date for what is one of the most anticipated remakes of the year. Sony, Konami, why do you play with our feelings?

Judas
Judas is the new first-person narrative title developed by Ghost Games (the creators of BioShock). The trailer is decidedly captivating, and the developers limited themselves to describing the title like this: “will you repair what you have destroyed or will you let everything burn?”. First you had our curiosity, now you have our attention.
Release date: Judas will arrive on an unspecified date for PlayStation 5
Metro: Awakening VR
The first of January’s State of Play VR announcements is Metro: Awakening, new game in the video game franchise born from the novels by Dmitry Glukovsky. A new first-person narrative adventure that promises to combine exploratory atmospheres, stealth mechanics and combat.
Release date: Metro: Awakening VR will arrive in an unspecified 2024 date for PS VR 2
Legendary Tales – Sony State of Play announcements
Other upcoming VR title: Legendary Tales will arrive in exactly one week and will take us into disturbing co-op battles in virtual reality. The player will be able to choose between weapons (procedurally generated, therefore absolutely randomly) or rely on magic. In the same way you can choose whether to venture out da soli o in multiplayer (obviously for the second option you will need an active PlayStation Plus subscription)

Dragon’s Dogma II
The pre-order campaign continues Dragon’s Dogma II, the new fantasy title from Capcom coming out in March. In this new trailer we discover more about the gameplay and action scenes.
Release date: Dragon’s Dogma II arrives March 22nd on PlayStation 5. We remind you that the title is not exclusive to Sony, therefore it will also be available on Xbox Series
Rise of the Ronin
Just under four minutes in which the director of Team Ninja takes us to discover the game mechanics of Rise of the Roninamong the most anticipated titles of this first semester.

Until Dawn – Sony State of Play announcements

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach
Among the most anticipated announcements of the State of Play there was certainly him: the mysterious project DS2, which fans did not hesitate to decipher. Well yes, Sam Porter Bridges is about to return for what promises to be yet another masterpiece by Kojima. For everything else we leave you with the official trailer (9 minutes long) and the description of the title which reads:
“Embark on a mission of human connections beyond UCA. Sam, together with his companions, sets off on a new journey to save humanity from extinction. Join them and travel through a world besieged by otherworldly enemies and dangers with a haunting question: should we have connected? Step by step, legendary game designer Hideo Kojima changes the world again.”

PHYSINT – Sony State of Play announcements for January 2024
And when we thought we had already witnessed the icing on the cake with DS 2, the State of Play surprises us with one last announcement: a new collaboration between Sony and Kojima. The title will be PHYSINT, described by the legendary Japanese creator as “the pinnacle of my career”.
Not much has been revealed about the game, other than that it will be a spy title that promises to further blurring the boundaries between the videogame and cinema worlds. Production will begin immediately after the end of Death Stranding 2, so we can expect the game not to release until 2026.
Release date: not announced
Once the announcements are over, Sony reveals that the next State of Play will take place in less than a week: February 6, 2024! The event will be entirely dedicated to Final Fantasy VII Rebirthwhich as we know will be released on February 29th.
