A week after the release in the USA, Samsung has started the rollout in Europe of the new update for Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5
I firmware, identified as F946BXXS1BXBE for Fold and F731BXXS1BXBE for Flip, weigh 407MB and 339MB respectively and are available as OTA (Over-The-Air) updates. To check if the update is available on your device, simply access the “Software update” in System Settings and click “Download and Install”.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5: Vulnerability fixes and improvements
The February update addresses a number of security vulnerabilities discovered in the Android operating system. Notably, the patches fix 72 vulnerabilities in total, of which 61 managed directly by Google and 11 by Samsung. Among the latter, 3 are classified as critical, while the others as “moderate or high risk fixes”.
One UI 6.1 and Galaxy AI coming soon
As anticipated in recent weeks, a future update will bring One UI 6.1 to Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. The new user interface will include the Galaxy AI features that have debuted on the Galaxy S24 range. TM Roh, president and head of Samsung Electronics’ MX business, reiterated the company’s commitment to bringing these new features to over 100 million Galaxy devices all over the world.
