Update in sight for WhatsApp: its beta version of Android 2.24.7.14 will see the integration of artificial intelligence of Meta. Let's take a closer look at how the new feature works.
WhatsApp: the update with Meta's AI, availability
The version 2.24.7.14 of WhatsApp is currently available for download on Play Store only for those registered with the program, therefore it is not yet actually accessible to users: for it to be, a further update is required which will be released in the future first in beta and then on the stable channel.
The news concerns the introduction of Meta's artificial intelligence within the WhatsApp application: now WhatsApp is working on the possibility of ask questions directly within the search bar. Therefore further speeding up the procedure by which applications are made.
Immediately above the keyboard we find useful suggestions for the user to ask the right questions to Meta's artificial intelligence. In this way interaction with Meta AI is simpler and more immediate, with a consequent saving of time.
Meta AI, what is it?
Mark Zuckerberg, owner of Meta, explained that the goal is to create general intelligence, then make it accessible in a responsible way and disseminate it widely. The CEO further stated that Meta is currently training its next-generation model named Llama 3.
Additionally, Meta is building a huge computing infrastructure to support the future roadmap. He actually bought it computational capacity equivalent to 350,000 H100 (Nvidia's super-powerful GPU, great for artificial intelligence) by the end of the year. It then reaches almost the computational capacity equivalent to 600,000 H100s.
Meta's chief scientist, Yann LeCunlast December he expressed doubts about the arrival of the artificial superintelligence. LeCun had explained that in the next few years we will at most be able to reach the intelligence of a dog or a cat, not that of a human. So perhaps when Zuckerberg talks about “long-term vision,” he means the next few decades.
