Today's morning – April 19, 2024 – Synlab Italiaa well-known European network in the field of medical diagnostics, has suffered a serious hacker attack which affected its systems nationwide.
The accident caused considerable disruption, preventing users from booking services or accessing their medical reports online.
Synlab Italia's reaction to the hacker attack
The company's reaction was timely: in compliance with its security policies, it has promptly disconnected the IT infrastructure and established a specialized task force. This team, made up of both internal and external experts, is currently busy containing the damage and working to restore the systems, in collaboration with the relevant authorities.
Following this event, Synlab Italia announced the suspension of all operations in its collection centers, medical centers and laboratoriesuntil further notice. This measure also includes the download and physical collection of reports.
Synlab invited the users with more urgent requests to contact the company privately through chats on social channelsensuring an individual response to each request.
