Good news for The Witcher 3 players on next-gen consoles. The developer CD Projekt Red has in fact announced a new update that will improve the performance of the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S. The update will be available free starting December 14th.
The announcement comes directly from company Twitter page. The post also reveals that there will be a live stream on CD Projekt Red’s Twitch channel next week that will provide us with more information regarding the update.
The Witcher 3: what we know about the next-gen update
The update will reportedly be available for free to all owners of the game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The update will bring “dozens of visual, performance and technical improvements over the original title”. Improvements should include faster load times, highly anticipated ray-tracing support, and “a variety of mods” which will be added to improve the experience.
What about players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One? Don’t worry, CD Projekt Red doesn’t seem to have forgotten about the “older generation” users. The company has indeed promised that it will release numerous additional contentboth technical and game, soon.
Meanwhile, anticipation for The Witcher 4 is growing. The game seems a long way from being completed and released.
