New security issues for Instagram. These days, as noted by theNational Cybersecurity Agency, a malicious campaign is underway that aims atInstagram account theft. According to what Csirt found, this campaign uses the “lawful functionality of resetting Instagram credentials which involves sending a one-time link to access your social account”.
Hackers, after generating a credential reset request they try to be sent the link necessary to access their Instagram profile from another device. The image below released by the Csirt clarifies the way in which the attempt to steal the user’s account takes place.
To defend yourself, the team of experts says, it is essential not to send codes and links received to unidentified third party users. In this way, in fact, the risk is avoided that a third party could carry out the scam attempt aimed at stealing the account.
