Tension is growing between China and Taiwan (as well as the United States) and one possible war “of reconquest” by China risks block the tech world and one of the leading companies in the sector, TSMC. The Taiwanese giant is an absolute reference for chip manufacturing and may not be able to operate in the event of war.
TSMC will not be able to operate in the event of war in Taiwan
Il TSMC president, Mark Liu, he clarified how a war with China would have negative consequences for all parties involved. TSMC, underlines the president, cannot be controlled by force and a war in Taiwan could make it impossible to carry on the normal activities of the company, with disastrous consequences on the world economy.
Note that TSMCTaiwan based company, supplies countless companies around the world with its chips. In addition to Western companies, several Chinese companies also depend on TSMC’s businesses. A war, therefore, would have disastrous consequences. Furthermore, the company is very tied to supplies in Europe and the United States and a possible stop would result in a drastic drop in value.
As highlighted by Liu, TSMC can only operate in times of peace. A war would also be devastating for the international chip giant’s operations and not just for Taiwan and the global economy.
