AI Forum 2022, artificial intelligence for sustainable recovery
Organized by Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence (AIxIA), the face-to-face and online appointment focused attention on how AI can make it possible to create a fully sustainable development model.
Gianluigi Greco, Presidente AIxIA, explains that our country’s situation regarding artificial intelligence is ambivalent. On the one hand, “Italian research in this sector is at the international top”. But on the other hand “we patent very little, ten times less than Germany“. And then there is a great distance between large companies and SMEs. Greco explains that “almost all large companies today invest in AI, while small-medium enterprises, which represent the Italian productive fabric, remain cut off, victims of a knowledge and training gap.”
Vittorio CalapriceRepresentation of the European Commission in Italy, explains that “Europe wants to promote the development of an anthropocentric, sustainable and reliable Artificial Intelligence thanks to the Compass for Digital 2030 and its ability to align strategic priorities with public and private investments in projects multinationals “.
And also Emmanuela Girardi, Founder of Pop AI and member of the Adra Board, underlines how Europe thinks this technological development is fundamental for our country as well. “Today technologies represent the focus of international competition, their development, use and control already have, and will increasingly have, a strong impact on global political and economic balances. Europe also wants to participate in this competition and the European Commission has defined a clear strategy to promote its technological leadership in artificial intelligence, data and robotics “.
