According to the latest rumors it seems that Apple will equip the AirPods Pro 2out by end of 2022of a USB ingress–C for charging. This is one of the first steps towards goodbye to the Lightning cable, which should come with the iPhone 15 launchthe first smartphone from Apple with USB-C.
Apple will use USB-C for the AirPods Pro 2
The news comes from 52audio and cannot be official. After all, the new AirPods Pro won’t arrive until the end of summer. But it looks like Apple is planning to switch to USB-C charging. A first step towards goodbye to the Lightning cable. Which will be final when Apple announces the iPhone 15.
Switching to the USB-C cable is something Apple has already begun to do on Macs and some iPad models as well. But now chand the European Union has passed legislation to standardize charging for electronic devices, Apple is taking the opportunity to switch to other technology. Which has several advantages (and some disadvantages) over Lightning.
In addition to the new port, there are many other innovations coming to Apple’s true wireless headphones. Starting with a new one System-in-Package (SiP) per il chip H1 which should ensure better active noise cancellation, EQ, Spatial Audio and audio sharing.
Also they should have better integration with Wheremonitoring of the heartbeat (and perhaps the temperature) and the function for improving hearing for those with problems of this type. In addition, we expect an improvement in sound rendering, also given the close collaboration with Apple’s Beats (and results of the company created by Dr. Dre).
All these innovations could receive confirmation or denial in the second half of the year. Apple may decide to announce the AirPods in the same September event for iPhonsand, or later in the fall. We will keep you informed.
