According to the latest rumors it seems that Apple will equip the AirPods Pro 2out by end of 2022of a USB ingress–C for charging. This is one of the first steps towards goodbye to the Lightning cable, which should come with the iPhone 15 launchthe first smartphone from Apple with USB-C.

The news comes from 52audio and cannot be official. After all, the new AirPods Pro won’t arrive until the end of summer. But it looks like Apple is planning to switch to USB-C charging. A first step towards goodbye to the Lightning cable. Which will be final when Apple announces the iPhone 15.
Switching to the USB-C cable is something Apple has already begun to do on Macs and some iPad models as well. But now chand the European Union has passed legislation to standardize charging for electronic devices, Apple is taking the opportunity to switch to other technology.
