IDEAthe association that protects the interests of the video game industry in Italy, has announced the arrival of Alberto Simonetti in the General Secretariat team, with the role of Policy & Public Affairs Manager.
IIDEA: Alberto Simonetti is the new Policy & Public Affairs Manager
Simonetti then joins the Association’s General Secretariat team, led by Thalita Malagò, General manager. The group is also made up of Ilaria Amodeo (Communication & Events Manager), Amedeo Calzà (Business Development & Esports Manager) e Davide Mancini (Developer Relations Manager).
Over the course of his career, Simonetti has gained considerable experience in the sector of public institutions. After graduating in Economics and Management of Public Administrations and International Institutions at Bocconi University, he dedicated himself for several years to digital innovation projects for public services at a local and central level.
For the last three years he has held the role of expert at the Department for digital transformation of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. Here he mainly dealt with national and European initiatives to promote digital skills and culture among citizens, with particular attention to issues such as digital inclusion, STEM disciplines and the gender gap.
In this context, he coordinated the national working group that drew up the guidelines on the challenges and opportunities of video games for the dissemination of digital culture, published in the summer of 2023.
