Apple has released the new iPhone and iPad updates: iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 bring a lot Announcements in the world of Apple. Some of these have already been known and tested in recent months during the beta, some have arrived at the last minute. Let’s get to know the most important ones, which can improve the experience of all Apple users.
All the news coming to iOS 15
Let’s start with the iPhone operating system. On the Apple smartphone, video calls with FaceTime, which becomes the real hub of communication on iOS 15, thanks to the many new features coming. But there are also many software solutions in other areas, which improve the operating system at 360 degrees.
New in iOS 15: FaceTime and Messages
In the last year and a half the video calls have taken on an importance never before. The ability to see each other’s face even from a distance has greatly affected our ability to endure lockdowns and put into practice the social distancing necessary to counter the pandemic. So Apple has decided to focus heavily on its platform, which is increasingly used.
The most important change undoubtedly is the ability to invite the conversation too Windows and Android users, who can chat with you via your browser. All while maintaining the encrypted protection that Apple has accustomed us to.
In addition, we find the portrait mode that blurs the background, very useful if, for example, you are attending a video conference for work and you do not want to show the rest of your room. The microphone of your iPhone orto the island and “cleans” your voice while you speak, canceling out annoying noises. Also, when there are many participants, you can see a grid with the speaker highlighted.
To these functions must be added Audio Space, also very useful when listening to music or watching a series, but which also greatly improves the perception of sound while calling, making it more natural and three-dimensional. Now it seems that the voice is coming right from the speaker’s mouth on the screen. Furthermore, with SharePlay you can watch a TV series or movie in sync with the person you are video calling. You can also scroll through the announcements together to decide where to go on vacation and perform other actions in total synchrony.
Finally, update also for Messages, the other iOS 15 native communication app. The links and multimedia contents will be together in the Shared with you section. Also there are more inclusive memoji and with more customizations. Finally, when more photographs are received, they will be collected in a way that makes it easy to consult.
The other new features of iOS 15
Among the other innovations there is a net change at notifications, which have a revamped look on iOS 15. You will see the contact photographs and larger icons, with a summary that places the most important at the top, giving you the ability to customize priorities.
Also comes the mode Full Immersion, which allows you to limit incoming notifications and focus better. The contacts in our address book will be able to see when we are in Full Immersion mode, in order to disturb us only if necessary.
In the Maps we will find more buildings and monuments in 3D, with more precise navigation showing lanes, pedestrian crossings and cycle paths, as well as real-time traffic information. In Safari instead we find an optimized panel bar, which synchronizes the groupings we do on all devices. Also, comes support for extensions.

- “Active text”In the photos taken: if you photograph notes and blackboards, you can extract the written text and copy it into text documents of any kind.
There are also many small tricks, such as adding the Schwa in the iPhone keyboard. Also you can change SIM within an iMessage conversation. The ability to search for your headphones (AirPods Pro and Max) on the network Where it is instead is postponed, you will not find it for the moment.

Who can download iOS 15 and how to try the news?
All devices with iOS 14 can download the new operating system. Then Phone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro e iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro e 11 Pro Max, iPhone Xs e Xs Max, iPhone Xr e iPhone X, iPhone 8 e 8 Plus, iPhone 7 e 7 Plus, iPhone 6s e 6s Plus, iPhone Se modello 2016 e 2020, in addition to the iPod Touch seventh generation.
To update, go to Settings> General> Software Update.
What’s new in iPadOS 15
Almost all the new features seen for iOS 15 also arrive on iPads. So you can take advantage of the novelties of FaceTime and memojis in messages, the new functions of Weather forecast e Maps, the Active Text about photographs and news for Safari. Instead, Wallet features are missing (not present for iPad) and the stability of the walk on the app Salute.
In addition to these, you will also find some innovations designed to work better with the iPad screen. For example, i increase widgets available. Also you can divide applications into Libraries, more easily accessible.
It also improves the Multitasking: there is a new dedicated menu that allows you to choose which other app to open from the Home screen. You can then open the app side by side, in Split View, and work on both (for example the clipboard app and the one you blog about). You can also hold to move an email or note to the center of the screen without breaking Split View. And with it Switcher applications you can find new convenient ways to split the screen to open multiple applications (which may have multiple tabs, now easily manageable).
If you connect the keyboard to iPad, you can use new ones shortcuts, such as holding down the key Command for app options.
The Notes app now has i tag and smart folders. Also you can take Quick Notes on any application, be it the browser where you read the news or any other app. This added feature to Multitasking greatly improves the usability of iPadOS for work.
For now it is missing Universal Control, which allows you to use the same pair of mouse and keyboard for Mac, iPad and iPhone. It will come later.
