Amazon announced plans to expand its delivery service with Prime Air drones in different parts of the world, including l‘Italiail Kingdom United e additional US cities. Starting in late 2024, Amazon customers in these regions will have the option to receive their packages via drones, paving the way for faster and more efficient deliveries.
Amazon Prime Air, drone deliveries also in Italy
Currently, Amazon uses drones to deliver packages with a maximum weight of five pounds (about 2.2 kg) in one hour or less. This service, active for almost a year in the United States, is about to arrive in Italy too.
Additionally, Amazon unveiled the new design of the MK30 drone, a model that represents a notable step forward compared to its predecessors. The company promises it will be quieter, smaller and lighter, making it more versatile and capable of operating in a wider range of weather conditions.
The delivery system holds packages securely inside during transit, ensuring the safety of contents. Furthermore, they are equipped with technology Sense and Evitawhich allows the drone to identify and avoid aircraft obstacles along the delivery routeeven objects that were not previously present.
In the UK and Italy, the integration process will begin in the logistics centers. This should allow customers to receive a wider selection of items in record time. Amazon has worked with national and international regulators to develop and implement this drone delivery program to be safe and scalable.
