Amazon plans to organize a second shopping event for Prime members. According to CNBC, it appears that the second event will take place in the fourth quarter of 2022. The announcement comes as Amazon prepares for Prime Day of 12 and 13 Julythe big annual sale designed to attract new subscribers.
Amazon Prime: a new shopping event is coming
Recently, the company began notifying a selected third-party merchants a “Prime Fall” bidding event via the internal vendor portal, called Seller Central. The notice does not reveal any datebut instructs vendors to submit “lightning deals” a limited time by 22 July, well before the fourth quarter event. The notice reads:
The Prime Fall deal event is a Prime exclusive shopping event coming in the fourth quarter. Submit recommended flash offers for this event for a chance to be selected!
The fall event could contribute to increase Amazon saleswhich in April announced that it had recorded the slowest quarterly revenue growth since the dot-com bankruptcy in 2001. It might also help resellers a dispose of excess inventory that have accumulated due to inflation, which prompts buyers to shift spending to sectors such as i trips e entertainment.
Analysts have expressed concern that Prime Day has lost some of the momentum he had a time, emphasizing the slowdown in sales growth; the reduction of the size of the ordini and one milder promotion on the Amazon website. Jefferies analysts on Monday predicted that Prime Day will help with $ 8.1 billion in gross volume of goods this year, “in line with last year’s summer event”.
At the moment, an Amazon spokesperson declined to comment on the event, previously reported by Business Insider.
