Amazon in collaboration with CRI donated 2,000 toys to the Italian Red Cross and invites its customers to do everything possible to support the “Donate a toy” initiative, designed specifically to ensure a better Christmas for children in difficulty due to the economic crisis. Here’s how to participate in the initiative.
Amazon launches the “Donate a toy” initiative
Until December 31, it will be possible to choose to send any product for children, mainly games, to the address of the Red Cross, then it will go and distribute them through its network. “We are proud to be alongside the Italian Red Cross to bring a smile to the girls and boys most in difficulty” he declared Mariangela Marseille, VP & Country Manager Amazon Italia, on the occasion of the launch of the project. “This initiative is another way in which we renew our commitment even during the holiday season to stay close to the communities where employees and customers live and work.”
For the occasion, Amazon has created a wish list on a dedicated page of the e-commerce site where you can select the purchase you want to donate to Italian Red Cross.
To give more impetus to the program, the giant contributed with an initial expenditure of 15.000 euro in support of the operation, in addition to the 2,000 games already sent. At the end of the initiative, Amazon will also donate to CRI the margin obtained from all sales of the items on the list.
The company already collaborates regularly with the Italian Red Cross to send items for personal care and house cleaning, disinfectants and sanitizers, sports clothing for adults and children, toys and products for children, which are distributed to children and families most affected by the current economic crisis, throughout the Italian territory.
