A worrying trend, especially in light of the number of cyber attacks that this year have affected both private individuals and government structures.
A recent survey conducted by NordPass he identified theand 200 most popular passwords in the world, analyzing 35 countries (including Italy obviously). Let’s go and see what our local ranking tells us.

The NordPass study, in addition to listing the most used passwords in 2023, also provides us with a glimpse of the context. In fact, it seems clear that the most vulnerable passwords (such as those in the ranking above) are mainly used for streaming platform accounts. On the contrary, fortunately, gUsers choose stronger passwords for financial services.
It is also interesting (as well as alarming) to note that 31% of the most used passwords worldwide are numeric passwords (like “123456”). Also the passion for football plays an important role. In Italy there are many passwords like “juventus”, while in Portugal there are trends like “benfica” and “Oliveira11”.
