Google has officially unveiled the new Android 12 (Go edition). This is the lighter version of Android 12 designed for entry level devices. The Go Edition of Android program can count on over 200 million active users and therefore represents a very important reality in the panorama of Android devices. The new version of the operating system released today by Google introduces several new features.
What’s new in Android 12 (Go edition)
The new Android 12 (Go edition) aims to be faster than the previous Android 11 (Go edition). In particular, also thanks to an improved animation, apps will open faster. The speed of opening applications, all other factors being equal, will be of 30% higher than the previous version of Android Go edition. It should be noted that a improvement of autonomy for devices that will upgrade from Android 11 to 12 within the Go edition program. Among the news there are also new storage space management tools. Rarely used apps will hibernate, freeing up space in internal memory. Deleted files, on the other hand, can be recovered within 30 days of deletion thanks to the Files Go application.
The other news
The new version of the operating system from Google also introduces specific tools for accessing content, with the ability to listen and translate the texts, and the sharing apps with available nearby. As the new OS is introduced the Privacy dashboard which will allow a more detailed control of the privacy tools. In addition, an indicator is also introduced in the status bar to indicate that an app is accessing the microphone or camera.
