The hacker collective Anonymous hits another Russian institution: this time it’s up to the authority of thecivil aviation of Moscow, Rosaviatsia. According to the hackers, they have erased 65 Terabytes of data. Among these, even some backups.
Anonymous attacks the Russian civil aviation authority
Anonymous hacktivists hit theRussian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia). The attack apparently began on Saturday morning. And it would have led to the deletion of several documents, files and data regarding Russian aircraft. The hackers would also delete the backups from the servers.
The Russian Federation, as has become customary, did not officially confirm the attack. However, the institutional site was not reachable. Officially, the Russian authorities speak of a technical mistake. One of the many in recent weeks.
At first, Anonymous did not recognize the attack. Even if today comes the confirmation of the @YourAnonNews account on Twitter. Which however, as we have reported, may have reported the publication of a possibly false document own oggi: remember to take Anonymous attacks with skepticism.
Anonymous recently spoke of preparing an attack that will “wipe out Russia”, something that perhaps concerns the Kremlin secret service. However, even this attack could have a huge impact on the already fragile Russian economy. It is currently unclear whether all aviation services are available. However, the site is still not accessible. And it seems that having deleted the backups could lead to logistical problems both for commercial flights and for the transport of goods in the vast Russian territory.
We will keep you posted.
