The patent and trademark office of the United States has published a patent application for Apple relating to a type of autonomous water detector of the new generation with a membrane architecture in polytetrafluoroethylene, which should make the next ones even more waterproof iPhone ed Apple Watch.
Apple: a patent for waterproof iPhones appears
It must be said that the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 models are already among the best smartphones, as far as waterproofing is concerned. Not by chance Apple ranks iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro with IP68 rating, which indicates that the device is capable of withstanding up to six meters deep for about thirty minutes, and at the moment these two devices sit at the top of the ranking of waterproof smartphones.
But apparently Apple wants to go even further, according to what is said to go and tickle the needs of those who practice extreme sports. In fact, the US Patent and Trademark Office has just published information relating to a patent, which explains how to exploit an independent technology of new generation for the detection of water in order to improve the impermeability of the iPhone and Apple Watch.
In particular, within the apple patent reference is made to the possibility of further improving the resistance with the use of membrane ePTFE, so as to be able to offer a greater level of environmental robustness, but not only.
The devices should also be able to alert the user or turn off the device in case of need, not to mention that there is even a system that could be implemented on speakers or microphones for the use of automatic systems capable of eliminating the water from the inside.
