Apple announced the new ones iPhone 15 Pro e iPhone 15 Pro Max, renewing its top-of-the-range smartphones in everything: the processors, the cameras, the materials. From Apple Park in Cupertino, Tim Cook and the Apple team showed us everything this new generation of devices can do. Also this year, Apple differentiated its Pro smartphone lineup from the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus in multiple ways. They have a new chip with new technology, they have new materials, unbeatable photographic and video performance. In short: they are Apple’s top of the range, and therefore the smartphones to beat.
As is now customary, these features come in two formats: iPhone Pro e Pro Max, with a larger screen diagonal. But both have really top features.
Truly premium features
The first news announced concerns the materials. The level 5 titanium makes iPhone Pro more resistant and attractive, as well as lighter. This is the material used in the Mars Rovers, incredibly strong although lighter. Apple fused this material with the aluminum interior (100% recycled) in an industry-new process that also helps heat dissipation. The look also changes, with an interesting finish for the edges of the iPhone Pro. The glass is also ultra resistant.
Big news is the Action Button, which allows you to select different options: activate the camera, your favorite app and much more. You will be able to see all the options on the ProMotion screen with Dynamic Island, which also has Always-On functionality. This allows you to use the display in StandBy mode, which allows you to use your smartphone as a smart display when charging.
The new A17 chip
iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max feature the new Apple chip, A17, Apple’s first three-nanometer chip. It has 19 billion transistors, which power a very efficient chip. There CPU da 6 core it has four high-performance cores, which Apple claims can compete even with computer chips. The Neural Engine also improves, which allows you to manage 35 billion operations directly on the device. Then there are engines dedicated to the camera and for video rendering (also in streaming).
In the new top of the range we find USB-C, but unlike the basic iPhone 15 we find a dedicated chip that allows data transfers to 10Gbit/s. The GPU, however, is the one that makes the biggest leap in quality, with 6 cores arriving at speeds greater than 20% and they even have ray tracing, to really play at your best. By using the GPU together with the Neural Engine, gaming performance does not decrease battery life.
Speaking of video games, Apple dedicated a part of the presentation to developers from various software houses. Who explained how the graphics of our favorite games will improve: from Genshin Impact to Resident Evil Village, several developers explained why A17 is the next step for mobile gaming. Even the next Assassin’s Creed will arrive on iPhone: a console game that you can carry in your pocket.
The new iPhone 15 Pro camera
Apple announces a new sensor from 48MP larger than last year’s, to improve photographic performance in any light condition, even in Pro RAW. The Apple camera and algorithms will allow perfect shots at 24MP, 24, 28 and 32 millimeters. With the Photonic Engine, Night mode really shines in shots shown on stage. And HDR allows you to capture natural light perfectly.
Also comes one 12MP telephoto camera, which allows an optical zoom from 5x to 120mm. To achieve this, Apple created a dedicated design that bounces the light to reach this focal length, with the sensor moving to stabilize at maximum (with 10 thousand micro-adjustments per second).
The 12MP Ultra Wide camera improves across the board, enabling the ability to take truly excellent Macro shots. With these three lenses, you will have the ability to shoot and record in different focal lengths. And with the USB-C port, you can send Pro RAW recordings directly to your Mac. Plus, you can record in Pro Res at 4K and 60 fps.
Finally, you can record “Spatial Video”, which you can watch on Apple Vision Pro. Using the main camera and the ultra wide one, you can record in 3D in high definition.

You can buy iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max in Apple Stores and also online. It will cost 999 dollars in the Pro model, while the Pro Max will start at 1199 euros. Pre-orders start on September 15th, arriving in stores on September 22nd.
