Apple Vision Pro is coming to the United States. On January 19th they will begin pre-orders, on February 2nd it will arrive before the eyes of the first buyers. But it seems that users who want to try the headset designed in Cupertino will have to answer a series of questions before purchasing it. And in case they have vision problems, before purchasing Vision Pro on Apple’s website they will have to upload a medical prescription.
Apple Vision Pro, for some you will need a doctor’s prescription
Apple has created a special pre-order method for this device. First of all, those who want the viewer will have to undergo one facial scan on the Apple Store to find the right size. To proceed with the pre-order, you will need to have a iPhone o iPad con Face ID. Apple only trusts its cameras to determine the exact dimensions of the Light Sealthe flexible part that presses on the face, and of theHead Band, the head band.
The band, to tell the truth, should be double: inside the package buyers will find the Solo Knit Band and the Dual Loop Band. The latter, which we have not seen so far, distributes the weight better (even if it seems more “classic” for a headset).
Even the lenses will be customized. So much so that anyone who needs prescription lenses will have to provide one medical prescription valid at the time of order. In fact, during the order, you will have to answer a series of questions to understand if you need lenses. After the payment, you will need to upload the prescription provided by a US ophthalmologist.
It is not clear whether, when the device arrives in Europe, the process will work in the same way. Indeed, it remains to be seen whether it will make pre-ordering too complex, in addition to privacy assessments, which European regulators pay particular attention to. But it seems that Apple wants to build Vision Pro user-friendly – in every detail.
