ASRock: pronta al lancio di nuovi monitor da gioco

ASRock: ready to launch new gaming monitors

Today, ASRock company said it will soon launch its new gaming monitor models

ASRock Inc. is a motherboard, industrial PC and HTPC manufacturer, headquartered in Taipei Taiwan, chaired by Ted Hsu. It was founded in 2002 and is currently owned by the Pegatron Corporation which has been part of ASUSTeK since 2007. In 2002 ASRock was originally a ASUS spin-off. Plans to move the company’s upstream began in 2007 following a successful Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.

Several new products ASRock (here for more information on the company) have gone through the KCC, which is the Korean equivalent of the FCC. Normally this would be a new motherboard or maybe a small form factor system, but surprisingly enough, we’re talking about new gaming monitors. The information comes courtesy of @momomo_us who unearthed a lot of juicy details on two of the models, while we only know the basic specs for the other models.

Details on the new ASRock gaming warning

First, we have the PG34WQ15Rthat is a 34-inch curved VA display with a resolution of 3440 × 1440. It supports FreeSync Premium and has a refresh rate range of 48 to 165Hz on DisplayPort and 48-100Hz on HDMI, which appears to be an HDMI 1.4 limitation. The next model is the PG27FFwhich is a normal display IPS 1080p which also supports FreeSync Premium, here with a 48 to 165 Hz refresh rate range on both DP and HDMI. There appear to be multiple secondary SKUs of this model, but they all start with PG27F.

Other models

Then we have the PG32QFwhich should be a 32-inch flat display, with unknown specs, but the Q in the model name suggests it’s a 1440p monitor. Finally we have the PG42Uwhere the U in the model name suggests it is a 42-inch 4K display. The stand looks almost identical to that used by ASUS for its ROG Strix XG43UQ 4K screen and the specs are likely to be quite similar too. Which means we might see support for 144Hz or higher refresh rates. All four displays are produced by TPV Technology, which manufactures its monitors under the AOC, Envision and Philips brands. It is not known when these new monitors from ASRock will be launched, but considering they have passed certification, it is very likely that they will show up by the end of the year.
