Bandai Namco exposed a head Gundam life-size, made entirely with recycled Gunpla kits as part of the closing event of its campaign “Gundam Recycle Strategy”Last weekend, focused precisely on the recycling of these frames. The two-meter tall sculpture was created with around 3,000 plastic frames.

Starting from 20 October, at the Gundam Base Tokyo and in other select stores across Japan, plastic “EcoPla” models made from recycled materials were distributed along with information brochures to educate the public about recycling. About a ton of used looms were collected during the campaign, which lasted about a month.
The Gunpla Recycle Project is a joint project between Bandai Namco Holdings, Bandai Spirits, Bandai Amusement and Bandai Logipal, which aims to use a state-of-the-art chemical recycling technology aimed at reusing plastic Gundam models (otherwise known as Gunpla) in new builds.
On April 1, around 190 facilities managed by Bandai Namco Amusement installed a recycling box in their sales point, precisely to promote the recycling of frames and other plastic waste. The collected materials will be sent to the Bandai Hobby Center in Shizuoka, which manages the production of Gunpla. The beauty of. Is expected to be recycled within a year 10 tons of plastic.
Bandai Namco aims to achieve a 35% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030 and net zero emissions by 2050.
