BMW Panoramic Vision is the new head-up display that covers the entire width of the windshield and will go into production with the first models NEW CLASS.
BMW Panoramic Vision
It is BMW’s reinterpretation of every driver’s attitude: eyes on the road and hands on the wheel. The realization of this head-up is expected in 2025 and the confirmation comes directly from Oliver Zipse, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AGwho confirmed this during his keynote speech at the 2023 Annual Conference.
BMW Panoramic Vision stands as a full-width head-up displaytherefore with 100% windscreen coverage, thus allowing a single interaction and information surface for all the car’s occupants.
Frank Weber, Member of the Management Board for Development of BMW AGdescribes in detail the main advantages of the BMW Panoramic Vision:
“The windshield becomes one large display with our new BMW Panoramic Vision, opening up completely new possibilities for the design of our vehicles. Whether the driver decides for himself which information to display in his field of vision or whether all occupants can see the entire content.
The revolutionary projection and the much simpler cabin structure give an impressive new feeling of space and driving. We are taking our tried and tested slogan ‘eyes on the road – hands on the wheel’ to a new level.”
The head-up display is also part of the control aid system BMW iDrive per la NEW CLASS. Furthermore, at CES 2023, the company also presented its revolutionary vehicle BMW i Vision Dee.
In the future, therefore, we will see windshields that become projection surfaces to help the user while driving and NEUE KLASSE vehicles will be the first to test this new technology.
Among other things, atIAA Mobility 2023 in MonacoBMW will present further developments, including new control elements and information on the new iDrive.
