Companies focus on operational rental, even for software
Despite a complex year for the sector, which saw a overall loss of 9.84%, Grenke Italia has been able to grow and have a turnover of 316 million euros. And the IT sector represents the largest slice of Grenke's business, significantly contributing to its leading position, especially in the segment of contracts up to 25 thousand euros. Among the most rented goods we find equipment, safety devices, and products related to health and well-being. But more and more there are also software products.
In Grenke's portfolio, hardware (42%), office equipment (3.8%), telecommunications (5.6%) and copiers (12%) play an important role. But interesting is theincrease in software rentalwhich is becoming more and more common in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and the medical/healthcare sector. This phenomenon reflects the growing need of companies to keep up to date with the latest technologies without having to face immediate investments.
Grenke squeezed partnership with some of the major players in the software world, such as TeamsystemIngram-Micro, Esprinet, Systems, Fluents and Zucchettidemonstrating the importance of operational rental as catalyst of digital transformation of businesses. This approach not only facilitates technological renewal but also prevents the obsolescence of technologies and equipment.
Grenke then reports to us that 2023 saw a significant increase in the rental of mobile telephony, network instrumentation, alarm systems and photovoltaic systems, with the latter recording the largest increase (+213%). These data highlight one growing awareness of companies on the importance of adopting sustainable and cutting-edge solutions.
