Konami Digital Entertainment BV and WayForward have announced the release of Contra: Operation Galugarevival of the historic video game series that made the history of the run-‘n’gun genre.
The first demo of Contra: Operation Galuga is already available
To give players a taste of the action ahead of the March release, a playable demo of the game is already available. This is available in the digital stores of the various platforms.
The demo offers the possibility of playing the first and third stages, both solo and cooperatively with up to 4 players. By completing the demo, you will be able to unlock bonus content for the full game.
A faithful but innovative remake
The title presents itself as a complete reinterpretation of the famous Contra game for NES/arcade, released in the 80s and which has become a cult of the run-‘n’gun genre. The game allows you to select one of the elite commandos (including the famous Bill Rizer and Lance Bean), and face eight stages full of action and alien enemies, led by the terrorist group Red Falcon.
The game features classic Contra weapons, such as Spread Shot, Crush Bombs and Laser Beam, but also unique abilities for each character. Additionally, the game introduces a new feature that allows you to upgrade your weapons to increase your offensive and defensive capabilities. There are also different game modes, such as Story, Arcade and Challenge.
Contra: Operation Galuga will be available in digital format starting March 12th for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC (via Steam). Furthermore, the physical version of the game will also arrive on April 26th.
