Fans of the souls, in front of the question “How to level up in Elden Ring?” they could turn up their noses, considering that the level up and the enhancement of the character, in the previous iterations, are possibilities given to the player from the beginning of the game (or at least, at most after the tutorial). In this new chapter of the franchise we could assert the same thing, but with a small difference. To start leveling up you will need to first make a pact with the mysterious Melinawhich will allow you, in her role as “Maiden”, to unlock other features of the Places of Grace.
To do this, go through the tutorial and exit to the first Tombstone map. After that, you will have to reach a specific Place of Grace, the one located in front of the Gates of the Gate (on the map it will be marked just as “In front of the gate”). Actually this is the closest to your starting position, but there are others as well, such as the one placed exactly opposite. The Ruins in front of the Gate will also allow you to get your first Map Shard and the Sharpening Knife.

Returning to us, once you have rested near the Grace in front of the Gate, a presentation cutscene will start for Melina, at the end of which she will offer her help. If by chance you are wrong and refuse it, you can still make your choice again. Accepting the help of the Maiden will guarantee you, in addition to the possibility of leveling up in all the Places of Grace, also that of ride Torrente, the phantom steed. Finally, if you decide to return to the Church of Elleh, the place of Grace immediately preceding it (at least following the game map), you will find Reindeer the Witch waiting for you. She will give you the Summoning Spirit Bell, which will allow you to summon spirits from ashy objects, consuming AP.

First of all, our advice is to give priority to Vitality and to Tempra, the two basic statistics par excellence. Increasing your Vitality will allow you to increase, in parallel, your Health Points and therefore inevitably your chances of survival. As the levels of Stamina increase, however, your Stamina will increase, the green bar under the HP, which allows you to run, block and dodge.
We then move on to Power and to Dexterity, the two basic stats that will allow you, based on the weapon you decide to wield, to inflict greater damage. In general, almost all early game melee weapons “scale” (so they deal more damage based on the stat) on either Strength or Dexterity, so leveling them up will inevitably make you stronger. Lastly, Intelligence. The parent stat for using spells and spells, although admittedly, for most classes will turn out to be fairly secondary at the start of the game.
