Fastwebone of the main telecommunications operators in Italy, has entered the electricity supply market with the launch of the new offer plan for Fastweb Energy. The presentation event “Switch On” was held today at SuperStudio Maxi in Milan, where the company revealed the details of its proposals for the lighting component. Which I am fixed rate offersbut differentiated based on user needs: in full “telco style”.
Fastweb Energia: here are the offers from the new supplier
During the event, Fastweb presented the its energy offers, which aim to gain a share of the market thanks to competitive and stable prices for consumers. The company, known for its broadband connectivity e mobile phone, has decided to expand its offer, following the trend of various telephone operators who, in recent years, have decided to explore new sectors to diversify their business. But with one really interesting recipe.
Fastweb explains that the energy market is becoming more and more dynamic: Six million users changed providers last year. And there are nine million customers who are leaving the protected market: they need a winning and transparent offer.
Fastweb's entry into the energy sector could lead to greater competition and to potentials benefits for consumers, who will have an additional option for their light supplies. After all, a little extra market never hurts, right?
Fastweb Energia offers
The offers for electricity announced by Fastweb they are designed to adapt to user needs. In fact, there are three differentiated rates which you can choose based on when you need it. But what they remain fixed, so you never have surprises on your bill. Also because, as Fastweb explains from the stage, the cost of energy is only worth around 50% of the cost in the bill: customers want more transparency and fair prices. Something that already exists in the telco world: there is a fixed price and a maximum quantity of consumption. Fastweb wants to do the same for the energy market.
Fastweb Energia's offers (for 3kW) are:
- Lightthe offer for those who consume little (perhaps for those alone or as a couple), up to 1,500 kWh per year at 45 euro.
- Fullfor those with average consumption (a family), up to 2,500 kWh per year 65 euro.
- Maxithe most complete, up to 4,000 kWh per year at a cost of 95 euro.
These are offers”flat“, which allows you to avoid surprises on your bill. A recipe that Fastweb translates from its long experience as a telephone operator, but which today readjusted to the energy market. Also because there are no constraints (you can cancel whenever you want). Furthermore, it is certified renewable energy, with a new feature: you can have “virtual photovoltaic panels”. And there is also the possibility to monitor costs in real time.
To Fastweb customers, the telco discount five euros on energy subscriptions. And for the launch (the first three weeks), prices will be frozen for the next five years.
A new entrant into the market
Fastweb's “SWITCH ON” event marks an important moment for the Italian energy market, with the entry of a new player ready to challenge traditional suppliers. With the offerings announced today, the company aims to gain a significant share of the market (they are aiming for 150 million in revenues over the next three years), offering consumers fixed rate solutions for their energy needs.
The expansion of Fastweb's offering demonstrates how telecommunications companies are trying to diversify your business to meet the challenges of a constantly evolving market. It remains to be seen how competitors will respond and what the long-term impact of this move will be on the Italian energy sector.
