Fastweb and Iliad have signed a agreement destined to change the optical fiber market in Italy. The two companies, in fact, form a partnership. Fastweb will provide Iliad with ultra-broadband connectivity in wholesale mode on the fiber optic network Fiber to the Home, allowing Iliad customers to be able to count on a high-speed connection for their home.
Fastweb fiber available to Iliad customers
Fastweb’s FTTH connectivity will be available to new Iliad customers over the next few months. Thanks to this agreement, Iliad enriches its presence on the fixed telephony market in Italy. With the enhancement of the offer, Iliad will come to guarantee a total coverage of over 10 million housing units by the first part of 2023. It is therefore a very important strategic agreement. It should be noted that the Fastweb wholesale network will cover over 14.5 million homes by 2026 throughout the country.
The comment of the protagonists
Benedetto Levi, iliad CEO, comments: “Our goal is to offer our users the best fiber connectivity service in ever larger areas of the country. The agreement with Fastweb is an important step in this direction and we can only be very satisfied ”.
