Well yes, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will receive one demo. There were doubts about it until the end, but Cloud and his reckless company will give us a small taste of life outside the walls of Midgar. He accidentally confirmed it the PS5 dashboard itself. The trailer description (included below via a tweet from the ever-vigilant Wario64) talks about the possibility of playing as Cloud or Sephiroth during the infamous Nibelheim incident. (Who knows, knows.) The fact that the flashback is defined as “the opening chapter of the story” of the game suggests that we will really start by making fire and flames, but apparently there is even more to the game.
