The first official Italian trailer for The Bikeriders is online, the film that tells the story of a gang of motorcyclists in 1960s America starring important names such as Tom Hardy, Austin Butler, Jodie Comer.
The Bikeriders is written and directed by Jeff Nichols, the director of films such as Take Shelter, Mud and Loving, who for this story was inspired by a photographic book of the same name published in 1968 by Danny Lyon, a photographer and photojournalist now 81 years old who applied the principles of the American New Journalism to the world of photography, and that in his book he had told from the inside the dynamics of a Chicago motorcycle club, the Outlaws MC.

In Nichols’ film this club is instead called Vandals, and so on follows the transformation, which takes place over about ten years, from a meeting place for local outsiders into a shady and dangerous gang which influences and threatens the unique lifestyle of the original group.
In particular, it tells the story of a young member, Benny (Austin Butler), who finds himself caught between the sense of loyalty to the club and its membersand in particular to Johnny (Tom Hardy), the charismatic and unscrupulous leader of the group, and the love for his wife Kathy (Jodie Comer) who, frightened by the criminal rise of the Vandals, fears for her husband’s life.
In the cast of the film there is also room, among others, for Michael Shannon, Norman Reedus e Boyd Holbrook, with Mike Faist playing the role of Danny Lion. The Bikeriders, which had its world premiere at the Telluride a few months ago, will soon debut in Italian cinemas, on a date supposedly close to that scheduled for its American release, set for the month of June.
