In the near future, in fact, five products of the company will switch from Lightning to USB-C, thus completing the change of course that began a few months ago.
Apple gives in to USB-C: here are five products that will abandon Lightning
According to some recent rumors, there will be five new Apple products that will abandon the Lightning port to switch to USB-C. Among these, theiPhone 15, which will feature a new door according to Ming-Chi Kuo and Mark Gurman. On the other hand, just last month theEuropean Union announced that it has reached an agreement to introduce a new law that would make USB-C the common charging port on all new smartphones, tablets, headphones and many other electronic devices by Autumn 2024. And considering that the new iPhone15 series is expected to be launched in September 2023, Apple could be perfectly in line with what is required by the EU.
But the new iPhone is only the first of five products that will move to the USB-C port. In fact, the company plans to update the next one as well iPad entry-levelwhich could arrive on the market in September 2022. And then also the AirPods charging case, which could follow a similar fate as the iPhone 15 series. As far as we know, Apple is expected to announce the second generation of AirPods Pro later this year, but it’s still unclear whether the case will still have the Lightning port or not. .
