Renowned consumer organization awards the best Wi-Fi routers and mesh systems of 2023
Whether it’s DSL, cable or Mesh Wi-Fi: FRITZ! products from AVM are simply unbeatable. This is the result of tests conducted by “Stiftung Warentest“, the largest independent institute for consumer products in Germany.
After thoroughly testing a number of Wi-Fi routers and mesh systems, “Stiftung Warentest” has awarded five products AVM. The “Stiftung Warentest” is a German consumer organization and foundation known for its extensive and complex quality tests.
All international research and testing are usually carried out together with members of the “umbrella” organization International Consumer Research & Testing (ICRT), based in London and of which Altroconsumo is also a member.
AVM conquered the first place with three models
Tra i router Wi-Fi, AVM took first place with three FRITZ!Box models, while two FRITZ!Repeaters received top marks for mesh Wi-Fi. Eight devices were tested in the router comparison test, seven for DSL connections and one for cable connections.
All three FRITZ!Box models tested, namely the FRITZ!Box 7590 AX, 7530 AX and 6690 Cable (available for connection in Germany), received the rating “good” with a score of 1.9. “Stiftung Warentest” also tested ten Mesh Wi-Fi systems. FRITZ!Repeater 6000 and FRITZ!Repeater 1200 AX both received the rating of “good” and, with the grade of 2.0, the best rating in the Mesh Wi-Fi tests. The “Stiftung Warentest” writes: “In the test, these two extension solutions Wi-Fi on the AVM they are the best”. Also, unlike other systems, i FRITZ!Repeater offer an automatic update function for added security.
The three FRITZ!Box models add to previous test victories: after the comparison tests in 2012, 2017 and 2020, this is AVM’s fourth triple success in the “Stiftung Warentest”. The three FRITZ!Box models are the only products to be rated “very good” three times in the categories of ease of use, security and telephony. Energy consumption is also outstanding: according to “Stiftung Warentest”, both the FRITZ!Box 7530 AX and the FRITZ!Repeater 1200 AX are “particularly efficient”.
