Myths, legends and bullets: the innovations introduced by Season 2 of Chapter 5 of Fortnite disturb even Olympus. Let’s find out!
The island of Fortnite otherwise it always remains the same as that which accompanied the debut of Chapter 5but the rumors about the Season 2 are confirmed: among many novelty to talk about, the season is titled “Myths and mortals” for a reason. The central theme, this time, is in fact the Greek mythology. We highly doubt that the perversions of the Hellenic deities will affect the “clean” gaming environment set up by Epic Games, but this does not seem to prevent Zeus, Aphrodite and the complaining company from entering the delirious lore of the island. Not to mention the locations, the weapons, the mythical objects… get ready for a real odyssey, then!
New map locations | Fortnite: Chapter 5, what’s new in Season 2
There is no seasonal change without the map changes, and that’s why Fortnite: Chapter 5without extending to the post-OG delirium, intends to keep us some surprises among the new features of Season 2. It goes without saying that all the new locations are based on the mythology of ancient Greece, including the Mount Olympus in heaven, the Underworld between the bowels of the earth and, in the middle, the Gloomy Gate where Cerberus awaits us. Together with these two, then, there is the Hound Battlefield for intriguing clashes between gladiators. We reiterate that this is not a completely refurbished map, but each season alters the morphology of the island significantly and this season is no different.
Unreleased Mythic Weapons | Fortnite: Chapter 5, what’s new in Season 2
Don’t worry: different weapons from the first season are here to stay, including the most divisive ones such as the Hammer Shotgun or, at long range, the Reaper Sniper Rifle. The wind of change, however, with the same skill as Demeter, overturns the arsenal available to players, also including new mythic weapons. Predictably, worthy of the pantheon too: the Zeus’ thunderbolt (a bolt to throw, obtainable by defeating Zeus), the Guardian Heavy Rifle of Hephaestus (common everywhere; Cerberus holds the mythical variant), the Herald submachine gun (as before, Hades has his own version), the DMR Huntress (Artemis) and the War Temper Assault Rifle (Ares). For travel, the following are available Wings of Icaruswith the Chains of Hades to follow later. Mod benches are also easier to find.
Battle Pass | Fortnite: Chapter 5, what’s new in Season 2
There is no fire nor thundering scrap metal without a new one Pass battaglia. So here we come Cerberus as a starter skin, with a page for the basic variant and a second “immortal” version which all skins have in common. Next we have the sweetened reinterpretation of Aphrodite, which Epic offers us in a semi-influencer key. Then it’s up to Poseidon, perhaps the most “Fortnitified” of the divine gang with a character design inspired by Rippley vs Slime. Leathery like every object of his attentions, she then follows the gorgon Medusa. It pops up sooner than expected Zeus, with Conqueror style attached on the second page. The goddess of the hunt Artemis is the penultimate skin to unlock, with Ade as a grand finale. As for the secret skin, it is Korra from The Legend of Korra series to serve as guest of honor.
Rocket LEGO | Fortnite: Chapter 5, what’s new in Season 2
Since Epic Games has to raise cash, there is also news for two other entities closely linked to battle royale. In conjunction with Myths and Mortals, also the new season of Rocket League is upon us, and the same symbiosis already successfully seen in recent months is expected. Members of the Crew they also automatically have the Rocket Pass, unlocking rewards in both games depending on your progress. Monetization will be different for LEGO Fortnitespecifically thanks to LEGO Kit (or, let’s say, LEGO Kit in Italian; at the time of writing, the servers are undergoing maintenance), that is floor plans purchasable with V-Bucks to build more objects to decorate the village with.
What else?
Speaking of the new weapons of Season 2, we talked about something new for one of the elements introduced by Fortnite: Chapter 5 and we stand by our word. THE benches mod are still available but, instead of needing to break down members of the Society to access them, they are now available in the least difficult Weapons bunker. As in the previous season, here too you can find both the mod banks and the weapons themselves. Which is excellent in the most exciting moments of the game, but it’s even better if you apply the two new mods: in addition to the good old Quick handlefinally the Thermal sight! The legendary Thermal DMR from Chapter 4 finally has a spiritual heir, we would say.
