The Gran Turismo 7 team apologizes by giving away in-game credits
Polyphony Digital, developer of the controversial Gran Turismo 7, has announced that it will be giving away 1 million credits to players who suffered the title down last week. The game was in fact blocked for more than 30 hours due to massive maintenance. The anger of the players was immediately poured on social networks, showing frustration for the unplayability of the title. The official apology arrived today, with a post signed by Kazunori Yamauchi, president of Poliphony Digital, on PlayStation.Blog. In the message Yamauchi also promised 1 million game credits to all players who have encountered the aforementioned issues.
The credits will be marked “shortly” the company promised, but will be distributed only to those who bought the title before the problems occurred (therefore by March 25, that is today). To request them, simply log in to the videogame no later than April 25th.
However, the 30-hour downtime isn’t the only problem gripping Gran Turismo 7. The game has been harshly criticized by fans for its micro-transaction system. In this regard, Yamauchi has promised patches to solve all the problems related to the game economy. In the meantime, however, the title has received very low ratings on Metacritic.
