A few days ago, Derek Yu, President of Huawei CB for Central and Eastern Europe, Canada and Turkey gave an interview, telling reporters chand HarmonyOS will land in Europe Next year. Huawei also announced that 135 devices already support HarmonyOS 2 and that the number of various devices updated and ready to move to the new operating system has exceeded 150 million.
HarmonyOS is coming to Europe
Despite the numbers listed at the beginning, it is a pity that Huawei HarmonyOS 2 is currently only available for Chinese devices. In fact, most of the models around the world are based on Android, a situation that Huawei hopes to change starting next year.
In this regard, Derek Yu said that Huawei is working hard to establish partnerships with Qualcomm, Intel and Microsoft and make sure you have the necessary reserves. Furthermore, the company still seems to believe that 4G is sufficient for European consumers, even as the entire mobile market is moving towards 5G.
We remind you that Huawei launched the third version of its OS this October at its Developer Conference, with the first beta arriving early next year. At the moment it is not clear how the company wants to move on the foreign market and if it will publish a trial version of its operating system also outside China.
Meanwhile, Huawei will continue to work on its flagship phones, especially the foldable models, as well as the series Mate, through which it could introduce HarmonyOS in other countries. In addition, the Shanghai Research and Development (R&D) Center is studying 5G chips, a sign that one day, in all likelihood, all Huawei flagships will support this type of connection again.
