The last frontier of marriage seems to be the metaverse. The confirmation comes from India where the future spouses Dinesh Sivakumar Padmavathi and Janaganandhini Ramaswamy have chosen to celebrate the ceremony in a virtual way (also eliminating the risks related to Covid). To make the matter even more interesting is the choice to celebrate the virtual function in a room a tema Harry Potter.
In India, the first wedding (Harry Potter themed) is being prepared in the metaverse
The ceremony will be held next February 6. At the moment, I’m at the event 2 thousand people were invited and another 5,000 could soon be added. The event will also see the participation of a virtual avatar in the likeness of the deceased father of the bride. The wedding in the metaverse will follow the Indian tradition but will take place in a virtual room inspired by the world of Harry Potter.
One way to make the experience more engaging
Initially, the two future spouses had thought of carrying out the wedding via zoom. By focusing on the metaverse, however, there is the goal of making the experience more engaging. It should be noted that the groom, Dinesh Sivakumar Padmavathi, is a fugitive from the Indian Institute of Technology and aims to clear the concept of metaverse with this very special initiative. For now, therefore, we just have to wait until next February 6 to find out how the event will take place and if the ceremony will really be celebrated in virtual mode.
