Apple seems to be ready to launch hers first headset for mixed reality (AR and VR) and this render can give you an idea of what to expect. A design reminiscent of a ski goggle but which contains the best of Cupertino technology inside.
Here are the renders of Apple’s AR viewer
A few months ago The Information had published a drawing based on the latest development stages of the Apple headset prototype. Now the artist Ian Zelbo he made a render for the viewer, which he calls Apple View. A device that should be able to immerse us in MiXed Reality (XR), providing both information in augmented reality and creating worlds in virtual reality.
The render cannot show the sensors for the motion recognition, which will allow you to directly use your hands to manipulate virtual elements, without the need for a controller. Neither the powerful processor that Apple will insert into the device, which according to some rumors will have the same computing capacity as a Mac.
In the dark glass there will be cameras capable of tracking the movement of your eyes, in order to make the VR experience more immersive. And also other cameras to record the outside: in total, fifteen optical sensors. But above all there will be two 8K screens, which, however, will have a lower resolution in the peripheral areas of our vision to save battery.
According to Apple analyst and expert Ming-Chi Kuo, the device is expected to cost around $ 3,000. A price which however should not be excessive for at least 250 thousand people: these are in fact Apple’s sales forecasts in the first year.
We don’t know if this will really be Apple’s mixed reality headset design. But we shouldn’t have to wait long: Apple View (if that’s the name) will arrive in 2022.
