Released in April 2021 exclusively for PlayStation 5, Returnal is finally coming to PC, with a release date confirmed today and the system requirements announced by Sony. The game consists of a third-person shooter with psychological horror and roguelike elements. The title sold well 560,000 copies in just three months of its releasewinning the Game of the Year award at the BTFA 2022 and the Develop:Star Awards 2021.
After the generic announcement during last December’s The Game Awards, it was confirmed today that Returnal will arrive on PC starting February 15 via Steam.
Returnal PC System Requirements: Out February on Steam
Through the PlayStation Blog, the minimum and recommended requirements of the PC game have been disclosed. In particular i minimum requirements (to play at 720p and 60fps) I am:
- 60GB HDD storage (SSD recommended)
- 16GB in RAM
- GPU Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) o AMD Radeon RX 580 (8 GB)
Per best performance (1080p at 60fps) the recommended requirements are:
- 60GB SSD storage space
- 16GB in RAM
- GPU NVIDIA RTX 2070 Super (8 GB) o AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (12 GB)
Finally for ultra performance with Ray Tracing, in 4K at 60fps the requirements are:
- 60GB SSD storage space
- 16GB in RAM
- GPU NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti (12 GB) o AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT (16 GB)
The game features two new Ultrawide resolution formats: 21:9 e 32:9. Keyboard and mouse support is expected, although the PlayStation Blog recommends using a DualSense controller.

“Despite initial mistrust, Returnal has kidnapped us. Each game element is devoted to a large variety of weapons, enemies and environments that manages to balance a similar gameplay throughout the game. Increasingly stronger bosses, increasingly powerful weapons and gadgets that will make you gain new skills, manage to keep the players’ interest high“.
