The functionality Closest Friendsalready active for Instagram Stories, will also arrive soon for feed posts.
For those who don’t know what we’re talking about, Closest Friends allows users to create a list of contacts who will be able to see certain content. In publishing an Instagram story it is in fact possible to choose whether to make that content public or visible only to Close Friends. In this case the classic purple border, which indicates that a user we follow has published a new story, appears to us green colour.
Instagram: Does Closer Friends also come in posts? Here’s what we know
Extending the feature to feed posts, currently in testing, was spotted by Tech Crunch in recent days. The portal then contacted Meta, which confirmed the ongoing test. Here are the words of the company:
“We’re testing the ability for people in some countries to share feed posts with their close friends. We’re always exploring new ways for our community to express themselves and connect on Instagram.”
We currently don’t know when the feature will arrive globally, but it usually takes Meta no longer than a few weeks to conduct its own tests.
