After introducing pools into stories (now several years ago), Instagram is allowing a select number of users to create surveys in the comments section of posts and reels.
This is obviously a test but, according to what was declared by Mark Zuckerbergthe feature is coming to everyone very soon.
Instagram: How will polls work in the comments section?
Polls in the comments section will look the same as they do in Stories, where they are already available as stickers. According to a screenshot by Adam Mosseri shared by Engadget, other users will be able to see how many people voted on a particular poll.
At the moment it is unclear how long the polls will remain open after they are publishedor whether users will have the ability to set a specific duration.
This survey is the latest big news designed by Instagram to make the comments section more interactive. In fact, just in the spring, Meta had introduced the photographic social network GIFs in the comments. As for the posts, however, we now think about lists of specific users who will be able to view the photos and videos posted (Closest Friends style for stories). Speaking of Stories: Instagram may soon introduce the possibility of creating different lists of users who will be able to watch your content.
