Instagram implements the ability to make donations and create fundraisers directly through hashtags.
Donating on Instagram will be easier
As part of updating its feed, Instagram is testing a new feature that will allow users to make donations to social or private campaigns. At the core is the idea of simplifying the fundraising process by allowing subscribers to donate directly via a related hashtag. In fact, just click on a campaign hashtag to access the support / payment options. A simplification not only for those wishing to support a specific campaign, but also for its creators.
In fact, the update includes a series of tools that will allow fundraising promoters to send the campaign claim to various contacts in the DMs (direct messages). Even in that case, a hashtag will be generated that will provide all the relevant information to users.
Ansa reports that at the moment Meta – the company that manages Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp – would be testing the functionality on some specific hashtags such as #BlackLivesMatter, #climatecrisis and #womensrights. We can therefore imagine that subscribers, by clicking on one of these hashtags, will receive information on how to donate to the various organizations involved in these issues.
